The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission awarded a contract on September 15, 2026, for liquid termite treatment services at the Joe Budd Field Office located at 5300 High Bridge Road, Quincy, Florida. The contract, valued at $3,676.00, includes comprehensive subterranean termite treatment comprising direct liquid application and bait installation. Treatment activities encompass trenching and treating the structure perimeter, drilling and foaming walls affected by termites, down drilling and treating the connecting slab, and installing Sentricon bait stations at eight-foot intervals around the building perimeter. The contract scope includes the first-year renewal for ongoing treatment to maintain continuity of pest management.

The contract period extends from the award date of September 15, 2026, through the completion date of June 30, 2027. This termite treatment project is intended to preserve the structural integrity of the historic Joe Budd Field Office by eliminating active termite infestation and preventing future wood-destroying insect damage. The work addresses previous termite damage identified during inspection, with treatment history for the structure having been unknown prior to contract award. The project directly supports the state's objective of maintaining the historic structure and protecting state property assets.
