About this award
The Florida Department of Health awarded contract C76CE9 on July 1, 2026, for a one-year period concluding June 30, 2027. This blanket purchase order, valued at $1,000.00, supports the state's Baby Rxpress Program, which distributes antiretroviral therapy (ART) to HIV-exposed newborns at no cost to families. The contract involves the procurement of 1,000 units of Retrovir (AZT), a critical antiretroviral medication, supplied at a unit price of $1.00 per unit.
The Baby Rxpress Program represents a public health initiative designed to provide early intervention and treatment access for vulnerable pediatric populations. By securing a consistent supply of Retrovir through this blanket purchase order mechanism, the Florida Department of Health ensures continuity of care for HIV-exposed newborns and removes financial barriers to treatment for affected families. The contract structure allows the department to draw against the established purchase order throughout the performance period as clinical demand warrants.
