The Florida Department of Environmental Protection awarded contract C71528 to Haitian Folk Life Society/Just The Way It Was for performance services at the Florida Folk Festival. The contract, valued at $7,000.00, covers three 30-minute musical performances scheduled for May 22-24, 2026, at the Tower Stage in Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, White Springs, Florida. The performances are integral to the festival's programming and operations.

The contract period extends from April 13, 2026 (award date) through June 30, 2026 (completion date), with advance payment authorized under Florida Statutes Section 215.422(15). Performance times are subject to adjustment based on weather conditions and scheduling requirements at the discretion of the Florida Folk Festival. The contractor will receive full compensation if unable to perform due to circumstances beyond their control, such as power outages or adverse weather, though cancellation by the performer absolves the festival of payment obligations. Payment processing will occur prior to the event, with the warrant mailed to Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park and delivered to the performer upon conclusion of the performances.
