The Department of the Army Materiel Command awarded a single-award indefinite delivery contract to North Star Imaging, Inc. to provide non-destructive testing equipment. Two firm fixed price delivery orders have been issued against the contract vehicle to date, totaling $1.4M, for an X7000 450KV NDT system to support testing programs at Joint Munitions Command facilities in Minnesota and Pennsylvania. The original solicitation sought information on qualified contractors to supply a state-of-the-art digital radiography computed tomography system capable of scanning parts up to 60" in diameter and length, to be delivered on a turn-key basis with a three-year warranty. No set-asides were applied. The contract establishes a potential value of $2.9M to be awarded through March 2024 in support of the Joint Munitions Command's research, development, acquisition, and sustainment of conventional ammunition for U.S. and allied forces.
The first delivery order awarded to North Star Imaging in September 2023 was valued at $1.4M to provide the requested equipment at its Rogers, Minnesota facility by March 2024. A second $0 value order called for a separate NDT system for the Joint Munitions Command location in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, to be completed by March 2028. Both orders were placed under the indefinite delivery contract vehicle established with North Star Imaging to fulfill non-destructive inspection requirements, consistent with the scope of the original solicitation seeking information on qualified sources for NDT systems.
