About this IDV

The Department of Health and Human Services' National Heart Lung and Blood Institute awarded Yale University a $10,426,691 indefinite delivery contract to support the Recipient Epidemiology and Donor Evaluation Study III (REDS-III) - Domestic Site program. As the prime contractor, Yale provides research, analysis, and support services for Phase 3 of the REDS-III program in New Haven, Connecticut. The REDS-III program conducts research to evaluate blood safety, availability, and clinical outcomes for transfusion recipients.

To date, three delivery orders have been issued under this contract. In 2017, Yale received a $780,135.73 cost-no-fee order to continue REDS-III Phase 3 services through December 2019. Prior orders in 2013 and 2011 provided $6,001,288.18 and $2,185,271.64 respectively to support earlier phases of the REDS-III program. All delivery orders were issued as cost-no-fee under the existing indefinite delivery contract vehicle, rather than through a set-aside procurement. The contracted services aim to assist the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute in advancing its mission of promoting the prevention and treatment of heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders.
