About this IDV
The Indefinite Delivery Contract awarded by the USDA Forest Service provides wildland firefighting support services under a multiple-award agreement. The IDV establishes blanket purchase agreements with small business vendors to furnish faller resources for fire suppression and all-hazard incidents throughout Region 5 in California. Services will include qualified fallers, equipment, transportation, lodging and supervision to support incident response from 2020 through 2023.
The original solicitation sought to competitively award multiple agreements through the Virtual Incident Procurement system, setting aside the procurement exclusively for small businesses. Vendors were required to register in the System for Award Management and obtain Level 2 eAuthentication credentials to participate electronically. The solicitation aimed to acquire critical wildland firefighting resources on an as-needed basis nationally and within Region 5, in support of the Forest Service's mission to manage public lands and respond to wildfires and other hazards.
