Description

TRI forest pre commercial thinning IDIQ this award is for stand improvement activities and slash treatment on the arapaho/roosevelt, medicine BOW/routt & white river national forests. Fully funded task orders will be issued under this contract. Stand improvement activities, such as tree thinning, are needed to reduce the tree density and, by the deliberate selection of leave trees, improve the overall health and condition of the stand based on the prescribed objectives. Tree selection and cutting of undesirable or excess trees will provide space for the leave trees to grow and develop, and reduce the incidence of insect and diseases that affect growth and undesirable tree qualities. Thinning may also target removal of ladder fuels which will reduce the risk of crown fires. Existing and created slash may be treated to reduce fire risk and modify fire behavior. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as government furnished), and incidentals to safely perform all work necessary on the areas specified. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit.
