About this IDV
The Indefinite Delivery Contract was awarded on August 17, 2017 by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service Rocky Mountain Region to provide pre-commercial thinning services across three national forests in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. The potential value of the IDV is $1.5 million. Under the terms of the IDV, the Forest Service may issue task orders for stand improvement activities such as tree thinning to reduce density and improve forest health, as well as slash treatment services to mitigate wildfire risk through August 31, 2022.
One such task order was issued on February 8, 2018 in the amount of $221,276 to conduct manual fuels reduction in Glen Haven, Colorado, to be completed by October 31, 2019. The work entailed thinning trees and treatment of slash to reduce hazardous fuels and modify fire behavior. These services aim to achieve land management objectives like forest stand improvement and wildfire risk mitigation through selective tree removal and treatment of residues on specified acres. The IDV structure provides a flexible ordering mechanism for the Forest Service to address varied needs across jurisdictions over several years.
Description
TRI forest pre commercial thinning IDIQ this solicitation is for stand improvement activities and slash treatment on the arapaho/roosevelt, medicine BOW/routt & white river national forests. Stand improvement activities, such as tree thinning, are needed to reduce the tree density and, by the deliberate selection of leave trees, improve the overall health and condition of the stand based on the prescribed objectives. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit.
