About this award
This Project Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities' Promotion of the Humanities Division of Preservation and Access program provides $331,528 to Lewis & Clark College to rebuild and reinvigorate its special collections program. The College will use the funding over two years from October 2021 through September 2023 to create exhibits, process Indigenous and Asian archives, and develop a community archive with the local Vietnamese community. This will allow the special collections library to recover from impacts of the pandemic by increasing its capacity to make key collections accessible and engaging to students and the public. As there are no subrecipients, Lewis & Clark College will directly provide all funded products and services to benefit its students as well as remote researchers and the Vietnamese community in Portland area through expanded programming and digitization of archival materials.
