The Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma received a $197,499 Project Grant from the Department of the Treasury on June 18, 2025, under the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Technical Assistance Grant Program (CFDA 21.031). This award funds the delivery of technical assistance services to qualifying very small businesses and socially and economically disadvantaged small business enterprises within the tribe's jurisdiction. The technical assistance encompasses legal, accounting, and financial advisory services designed to help eligible small businesses prepare applications and access SSBCI Capital Program funding or other federal and jurisdictional small business support initiatives.
The SSBCI Technical Assistance Grant Program represents a one-time initiative of limited duration authorized under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The Kiowa Tribe, operating through its Kiowa Tribal Museum division headquartered in Carnegie, Oklahoma, will provide these advisory services either directly or through contracted service providers. Sub-recipient activities for this award have not yet been determined. The program targets underserved small business populations and supports their participation in federal and state small business lending and development programs.
