Salt lake area chamber of commerce

The U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Office of Entrepreneurial Development awarded a $150,000 Project Grant on September 30, 2023 to the Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, doing business as the Downtown Alliance. This grant is funded through the SBA's Women's Business Ownership Assistance program (CFDA 59.043), which provides training, counseling, and technical assistance to help small businesses owned and controlled by women, with a focus on socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs.

The funding will enable the Chamber's Downtown Alliance division to deliver a range of supportive services to women-owned small businesses in the Salt Lake City area. This includes entrepreneurship training, business consulting, financial literacy education, mentoring, and facilitating access to capital. The goal is to remove discriminatory barriers women entrepreneurs face in accessing critical resources for business growth and success.
