WWBIC, a leading statewide economic development non-profit, will use the funding to provide training, counseling, and technical assistance aimed at assisting small businesses owned and controlled by women, with an emphasis on socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Common activities will involve delivering entrepreneurship training, business consulting, financial literacy programs, mentoring services, and facilitating access to capital specifically for women-owned small businesses. WWBIC has an extensive track record of receiving federal grant awards and delivering community economic development services funded through these grants, including partnerships as a sub-recipient to channel federal funding into small business support at the local level.
