Office of women's business ownership

The U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Office of Entrepreneurial Development awarded a $150,000 Project Grant under the Women's Business Ownership Assistance program (CFDA 59.043) to the Enterprise Center of Johnson County Inc. (ECJC) on September 30, 2023. This funding will enable ECJC, also known as the Women's Business Center, to provide entrepreneurship training, business consulting, financial literacy education, and mentoring services specifically targeted towards women-owned small businesses in the Overland Park, Kansas area over the 2023-2024 project period. ECJC is a non-profit organization that has been a consistent recipient of SBA grants to assist private, non-profit organizations in removing discriminatory barriers that women entrepreneurs face in starting and growing their small businesses. This latest award builds on over $1.9 million in SBA grant funding ECJC has received since 2019 to deliver a range of specialized programs empowering women entrepreneurs in the Kansas City region.
