About this award
Seattle Economic Development Fund (SEDF) received a $400,000 Project Grant award from the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Veterans Business Outreach on May 1, 2023 to complete the program by April 30, 2024. The grant funding supports SEDF's delivery of services under the Veterans Outreach Program (CFDA 59.044), which provides information on small business ownership to service members, military spouses, and veterans through entrepreneurship training and counseling.
As a long-time administrator of SBA technical assistance programs including Microloans, Women's Business Ownership Assistance, and Veterans Outreach, SEDF will use this grant to continue delivering its core services of microloans under $50k paired with customized business and financial training. The organization may also enter into subawards to conduct outreach and provide training tailored for veterans. With this new funding, SEDF is well positioned to empower more veteran entrepreneurs in the Seattle area to start and grow successful small businesses through 2024.
