The Research Foundation of the City University of New York (RFCUNY) received a $150,000 Project Grant award from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to support cataloging and digitizing approximately 62 hours of film footage and 90 hours of videotape from the documentary "A Life Apart: Hasidism in America, 1992-1996." The award was made under NARA's National Historical Publications and Records Grants program (CFDA #89.003) to undertake activities related to preserving, publishing, and using documentary sources pertaining to U.S. history. Work will be completed by August 31, 2022. The funding will allow RFCUNY to catalog and create digital copies of historical documentary materials, making them more widely accessible to researchers and the public.
