This $1,372,268 Project Grant award from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) under the Minority Health and Health Disparities Research program (CFDA 93.307) will fund a study to adapt and test the effectiveness of a community-based intervention to increase RSV vaccine uptake among Latino older adults.

The project aims to adapt the "Motivate, Vaccinate, Activate" intervention, originally designed to boost COVID-19 vaccine confidence, to instead target barriers to RSV vaccine acceptance in the Latino community. The intervention will include community health worker counseling sessions and text message nudges to address trust, knowledge, and access-related barriers to RSV vaccination. The study will conduct a randomized trial to evaluate the intervention's effectiveness in increasing RSV vaccine uptake among Latino adults over 60 years old, as well as its impact on activating younger Latino adults to discuss RSV vaccination with their older family and social network members. Detailed implementation data will also be collected to support broader adaptation and adoption of the intervention.
