The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) awarded a $3,225,980 Project Grant under the Mental Health Research Grants program (CFDA 93.242) to the Trustees of Princeton University to establish a CONTE Center focused on understanding latent cause inference in mental health and illness. The Center will conduct a comprehensive research program spanning four integrated projects to quantify individual differences in latent cause inference, examine its role in compulsive disorders and anxiety, and delineate the underlying neural mechanisms. Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is a sub-awardee and will co-manage the projects and research cores, contributing to the publication of study data, subject recruitment and assessment, computational modeling, and neuroimaging analysis. The award has an ultimate completion date of July 31, 2029.
