This $2,075,744 Project Grant award from the National Cancer Institute (CFDA 93.397 - Cancer Centers Support Grants) supports the comprehensive cancer research and patient care activities of the University of Rochester's Wilmot Cancer Institute.
The objectives of the award are to: 1) improve patient outcomes through innovative, interdisciplinary cancer research integrating basic, translational, and population science; 2) translate research discoveries into patient benefits through clinical trials; 3) enhance cancer science mentoring and career development; and 4) engage the local community to address unmet cancer prevention and care needs. The funding enables the Wilmot Cancer Institute to conduct this work with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion across its 27-county service area in central and western New York. The award period runs from March 15, 2025 to February 28, 2030.
