The U.S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service awarded a $1,840,765 Project Grant to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) under the Outdoor Recreation Acquisition, Development and Planning program (CFDA 15.916). WDNR will sub-grant these funds to the City of Pewaukee, Wisconsin to develop the Pewaukee Inclusive Playground project. The project will improve public outdoor recreation opportunities for Wisconsin citizens by creating new park amenities such as a walkway, picnic areas, and landscaping at the Pewaukee site. This initiative aligns with the program's objectives to preserve natural spaces, enhance public access to recreation, and strengthen community recreational infrastructure. The project is expected to be completed by May 31, 2027.
