THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT WILL SUBGRANT THE LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND (LWCF) AWARD TO THE CITY OF MONT BELVIEU TO ENHANCE AND EXPAND THE RECREATIONAL AMENITIES AT JOE MATTHEWS PARK. THE WORK WILL INCLUDE AN ENTRY GATE AND SIGN, ACCESSIBLE DOCK AND PIER SYSTEM, AN ACCESSIBLE WALKING TRAIL, A HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL WITH BRIDGES, AN INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND, NATIVE LANDSCAPING WITH IRRIGATION AND SIGNAGE.
