Meriwether County in Georgia was awarded a $439,080 project grant from the Department of the Interior National Park Service through the Outdoor Recreation Acquisition, Development and Planning program (CFDA 15.916). The funding will support development of the new 25-acre Greenville Recreation Area park, including a grass field, ADA-accessible walking trail, pavilion, playground equipment, and restroom facilities on approximately 12 acres. The remaining land will be left in its natural state with nature trails. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources will oversee delivery of these park amenities and outdoor recreation facilities for Meriwether County residents through July 2025.
