Juniata College received a $995,000 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education under the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) federal grant program. The three-year award, issued on September 1, 2022 and concluding on August 30, 2025, will support the college's "RURAL COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS TICKBORNE DISEASES: A ONE HEALTH INITIATIVE" project. This initiative aims to provide assistance and support innovative strategies to improve postsecondary instruction and expand opportunities through community project funding. Specifically, the grant will directly fund activities addressing tickborne diseases using a "One Health" approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal and environmental health.
