Florida International University (FIU) received a $975,000 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education under the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) federal grant program.
The two-year award, which runs from January 2023 through December 2025, will support FIU's STUDENT SUCCESS AND COMPLETION AT FIU project. Consistent with FIPSE's goal of supporting institutional reforms and innovative strategies to improve postsecondary instruction and expand opportunities, FIU will use the grant funds to implement and test initiatives designed to enhance student success and completion rates. Key activities are expected to include reforms and strategies to instruction and student support services.
The grant provides direct funding for FIU's community project and allows the university to develop and assess approaches to strengthen outcomes for its student body. Results from this work should offer insights applicable to other postsecondary institutions seeking to bolster academic achievement and graduation numbers.
