The Washington University received a $2,584,816 Project Grant award from the Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Office of the Director on April 15, 2021 to fund the project "Assessing Testing Strategies for Safe Return to K-12 Schools in an Underserved Population" through March 31, 2022.
The project aims to evaluate different COVID-19 testing methods to support safe in-person learning for underserved K-12 school communities in Missouri. Through the Trans-NIH Research Support program (CFDA #93.310), which provides assistance to multiple NIH offices for research support, this award will allow The Washington University to assess strategies such as screening frequency, testing technologies, and data sharing to inform evidence-based COVID-19 testing protocols tailored for resource-constrained school districts.
