Short-term outcomes include improving knowledge of youth substance use patterns and coalition efforts, increasing outreach to community sectors, and expanding local agency capacity to address youth substance use. Intermediate outcomes aim to reduce risk factors for substance use, promote protective factors, increase youth access to prevention-focused settings, and decrease youth access to substances. Long-term outcomes seek to establish sustained community collaboration and reduce substance use among youth and adults. The award period runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031. Performance occurs in Maryland. The DFC Support Program establishes and strengthens community coalitions working to prevent and reduce substance use among youth through inter-agency and cross-sector collaboration.
