The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) received a $2.3 million project grant award from the Federal Transit Administration's Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities (CFDA 20.513) program. The grant will fund a statewide Mobility as a Service feasibility study and implementation plan to explore transit riders' ability to plan, reserve, and pay for mobility services using a single platform or application. NCDOT will lead the study and develop local and statewide implementation plans, including a pilot with the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation and Charlotte Area Transit System. The expected outcomes are continued safe and effective statewide transit planning. As the awardee, NCDOT will administer the funds and oversee sub-awards to conduct urban and rural program administration and activities. The grant period is July 1, 2022 through March 30, 2029.
