The Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy Reservation will receive $110,890 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the Native American and Native Hawaiian Library Services (NANH-L) program to increase public access to cultural archival information through Stone Child College's Rocky Boy Community Library. The library will consolidate historically significant tribal materials onto a digital platform accessible through two interactive kiosks. This will allow community members to explore Chippewa Cree culture at their own pace and create deeper personal experiences. The library will also hold 12 community events and five day-long cultural workshops on topics such as moccasin making, ribbon skirt crafting, storytelling, and native plants. The goal of the IMLS NANH-L program to assist tribes in improving core library services will be advanced through these initiatives preserving and sharing cultural heritage with the Chippewa Cree community.
