This $123,416 Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) Project Grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is designed to support community-wide efforts to quickly house homeless individuals and families in Des Moines, Iowa. The grant recipient, the Institute For Community Alliances, will use the funds to provide a range of eligible services under the Continuum of Care Program, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) operations, and homelessness prevention assistance. As a non-profit organization with extensive experience in addressing homelessness, the Institute For Community Alliances will work to minimize trauma, promote access to mainstream resources, and optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness in the local community. The goal of the award is to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness through effective housing placements and supportive services.
