Description
Barona band of mission indians' barona cultural center and museum will create and install an animated short film entitled, "sinyohow and the twins." this film will serve as a sequel to the tribe's award-winning multi-sensory kumeyaay/diegueño creation story film and exhibit. Using a community generated manuscript, the project team will hire a film production company to develop the script and work with the filmmakers to create and install the film in the cultural center theater. By making this film available, the cultural center will connect local native youth and visitors with ancient kumeyaay stories and knowledge, from the tribe's perspective. Viewers will benefit from a deeper understanding of kumeyaay history and culture, and younger generations will grow up with these stories as a normalized way of life.
