Description

Project activities include developing a collections management policy; conducting a comprehensive collections inventory; cataloging and digitizing the inventoried collection; acquiring and installing compact mobile shelving; and rehousing the collections. Project funds will also support the purchase of necessary supplies and equipment, the recruitment and training of paid interns, and the engagement of a consulting archivist who will travel to the center to provide oversight on the development of cataloging protocols and standards for digital asset management. The project will result in increased physical and intellectual control of the collection, benefitting both the local lānaʻi community, and the broader native hawaiian community.
