Description

Artpace SAN antonio will implement the artpace teen council, a nine-month, paid after-school program designed to encourage SAN antonio high school students to become advocates for contemporary art and young leaders in their community. The program will bring together a diverse group of teens from throughout SAN antonio. Led by partner artists, art professionals, and museum staff, the teen council will participate in workshops to learn about art careers and organizations. They will use this knowledge to create their own exhibitions and programs that engage fellow youth audiences with contemporary art. As a result of this project, participating teens will gain hands-on experience and skills to pursue careers in the arts and the city of SAN antonio will gain qualified candidates to contribute to the city's future arts and culture workforce.
