The federal Project Grant award of $999,806.00 from the Defense Health Agency under the Military Medical Research and Development program (CFDA 12.420) supports research at The General Hospital Corporation, doing business as Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), to study innate lymphoid cells as new targets to reduce vascularized composite tissue transplant rejection. The award, which runs from September 30, 2024 to September 29, 2027, will enable MGH to conduct innovative biomedical research, including laboratory studies and clinical trials, to advance understanding of the role of innate lymphoid cells in transplant rejection and develop new treatment approaches. As a premier academic medical center and research institution, MGH brings specialized expertise, facilities, and partnerships to this project aimed at improving outcomes for military service members, veterans, and the broader public.
