The component at Clemson University will assist Dr. Jun Hee Kim in the completion of experiments outlined in Aim 2. Dr. Lee is familiar with all aspects of the project and will specifically oversee aspects of Aim 2. Dr. Lee will synthesize and characterize the cationic amphiphilic co-polymer, PLGA-g-PEI (PgP) as a nanocarrier for 7,8-DHF or LM22A-4, which are agonists for TrkB. She will load 7,8-DHF or LM22A-4 in PgP and measure the loading efficiency of 7,8-DHF or LM22A-4 by HPLC analysis and provide PgP, 7,8-DHF loaded PgP (DHF-PgP) or LM22A-4 loaded PgP (LM-PgP) for Dr. JH Kim (PI) to perform experiments proposed in Aim 2.
