The University of Arizona, through its Arizona Board of Regents, was awarded a $687,884 Project Grant from the Department of Defense's Military Medical Research and Development program (CFDA 12.420) to conduct research on "TARGETING PROLACTIN FOR PREVENTION OF FEMALE-SELECTIVE NOCICEPTOR SENSITIZATION FOR TREATMENT OF FEMALE-PREDOMINANT PAIN SYNDROMES". This 4-year research project, with a start date of September 1, 2023, aims to transform healthcare for Service Members and the American public by investigating medical solutions for female-predominant pain conditions. As a public research university and Hispanic Serving Institution, the University of Arizona will leverage its diverse capabilities in biomedical sciences, experimental research, and data analysis to advance this critical area of military medical research.
