The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded Willamette Family, Inc. $525,000 on September 30, 2026, under the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment Projects of Regional and National Significance program (CFDA 93.490) to implement the Willamette Family PPW-R Family Recovery Continuum in Lane County, Oregon. Willamette Family will deliver integrated residential substance use disorder treatment, medication-assisted opioid and alcohol use disorder coordination, trauma-informed counseling (individual, group, and family), parent-child attachment and parenting interventions, therapeutic childcare with developmental screening, intensive family and reunification case management, recovery housing, peer support, life-skills and employment/education services, overdose response and medication safety education, coordination with Oregon Department of Human Services and courts, and post-residential follow-up services. The project will serve 67 pregnant, postpartum, and parenting women with opioid, fentanyl, methamphetamine, alcohol, or polysubstance use disorders annually, approximately 70 minor children (birth through age 17), and approximately 30 family members or caregivers annually, totaling 167 unduplicated individuals per year and 835 over the project period. Participants frequently present with co-occurring mental health conditions, trauma histories, housing instability, domestic violence or sexual abuse histories, and child welfare or court involvement. Performance takes place in Eugene, Oregon, with outreach and referral pathways extending to surrounding rural Oregon communities. The project period runs through September 29, 2031.
