The Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded Recovery Action Network of Michigan $350,000 under the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment Projects of Regional and National Significance (CFDA 93.490) on September 30, 2026. RANMI will expand peer-led recovery support services throughout an 18-municipality service area covering approximately 730,000 residents in western Wayne County, Michigan. The project will serve 950 unduplicated participants over the three-year period (200 in year one, 300 in year two, 450 in year three), including adolescents, transition-age youth, adults, older adults, and family members affected by substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Participants will include veterans, justice-involved individuals, and those transitioning from treatment or recovery housing. Services delivered include certified peer recovery coaching, recovery planning, resource navigation, workforce development, family recovery support, prevention education, transportation and healthcare navigation, recovery community engagement, and referrals to housing, employment, education, and other community resources. RANMI will also expand certified peer recovery coach capacity, strengthen recovery-ready workplace initiatives, expand community partnerships across healthcare, behavioral health, education, criminal justice, and community organizations, provide tobacco cessation education and referrals, and participate in SAMHSA's Recovery Portfolio Learning Collaborative.
