Description
Making charter OAK's youth arts institute aces-aware and trauma-informed - starting this semester, we will be providing training for our staff, faculty, parents, students, and the general community in the neuro-science and impact of trauma, including and especially racialized trauma. This training will be provided by trained therapists provided by the hartford agency 2ASSUREUS. This grant will help US provide ongoing training throughout the year. The aim is to help our charter OAK family members understand how racism affects the nervous system and how unintegrated trauma in any one of US can lead to acting out, including in violent and racist ways.
