Description

Integrated solutions for youth recovery and resiliency (this project) combines three best practice models to intervene in youth mental, emotional, and behavioral health crisis, help them recover from those crisis as well as the effects of violence and drug abuse in their lives, prevent recidivism, and empower them with the clinical, socio-emotional, socio-economic, and social-cognitive supports required for whole, healthy, and productive lives outside of the cycles of generational poverty and in the wake of impacts exacerbated by the covid-19 pandemic. Uniquely, this project combines evidence-based best-practices in providing clinical support, mentorship, and socio-economic supports that facilitate exits from generational poverty by bringing together and supporting many community partners whose work is often conducted independently in a cohesive partnership with a local school district, mentorship organization, counseling center, substance abuse counseling center, and community based programs to create an integrated, cohesive, and comprehensive connection, referral and support system for at risk youth. Parkview legacy foundation serves a lead organizing role in this project and incorporates its integrated anti-poverty framework which helps individuals, institutions, and communities address the causes of poverty in the interest of equity by empowering the development of 11 essential resources needed to exit cycles of generational poverty. By providing a cohesive and comprehensive system of care, this project benefits the community by interrupting the impacts of crisis and fostering long-term health and economic vitality and resiliency in the lives of youth and the community. IT also establishes a working collaborative model that builds upon the strengths of existing organizations to improve educational outcomes and ensure more effective and efficient use of community resources.
