The Georgia Housing & Finance Authority received a $630,221 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development, under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267), awarded June 1, 2026, with completion targeted by May 31, 2027. Through this award, the Authority will support comprehensive homelessness prevention and housing services across five eligible program components: permanent supportive housing and rapid rehousing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness; transitional housing; supportive services; and Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) that track client data and outcomes. The CoC Program funds enable the Authority to work collaboratively with nonprofit providers and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless populations—including persons fleeing domestic violence and youth ages 24 and younger—while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency. Eligible uses of grant funds include planning activities, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing or services, new construction, rental assistance, case management, job training, and operating costs. By leveraging this federal investment, the Authority aims to establish a community-wide infrastructure that addresses housing insecurity and supports vulnerable populations across the Atlanta metropolitan area and state of Georgia.Federal Grant Award Summary
