The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded Miami-Dade County $782,752 on February 1, 2026, under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267), a Project Grant designed to promote community-wide commitment to ending homelessness and provide funding for nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and dislocation.
The Continuum of Care Program funds eligible costs to establish and operate projects under five components: permanent housing (including permanent supportive housing for persons with disabilities and rapid rehousing), transitional housing, supportive services only, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and in some cases homelessness prevention. Eligible activities include COC planning, United Funding Agency costs for fiscal control and accounting, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing or supportive services, new construction, and other specified assistance types.
Miami-Dade County's Controller Division serves as the recipient organization. Performance occurs in Miami, Florida, with a period of performance from February 1, 2026, through January 31, 2027.
