About this award
The Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service awarded $464,000 to the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) on July 1, 2025, under the National Fish Habitat Partnership (NFHP) program (CFDA 15.686) to support operational coordination through September 30, 2027. The award funds continuation of three formally recognized Fish Habitat Partnerships: the Pacific Marine and Estuarine Partnership (PMEP), the Pacific Lamprey Conservation Initiative (PLCI), and the Hawaii Fish Habitat Partnership (HFHP). The funding provides stable operational support to enable these partnerships to maintain continuity in their fish habitat restoration missions across the Pacific region.
The specific products and services delivered include coordination and management of habitat restoration initiatives, including processes for soliciting, selecting, funding, and tracking conservation projects; administrative staff support for partnership committees and stakeholder engagement; and partnership outreach, development, and marketing activities. Additionally, the award supports technical services required under the American Conservation Enhancement Act, such as hosting and maintaining a national project tracking system for the NFHP, generating project accomplishment summaries and reports for the NFHP Board and Congress, and providing ongoing reporting and evaluation of partnership projects. These services enable the three Fish Habitat Partnerships to effectively coordinate regional fish habitat conservation across multiple states and territories.
Description
The service provides funding for stable operational support to all of these partnerships to allow them continuity in pursuing their habitat restoration mission. The funds for this award are to be used to continue the coordination and operation of the pacific marine and estuarine partnership (pmep), the pacific lamprey conservation initiative (plci), and the hawaii fish habitat partnership (hfhp) which are formally recognized fish habitat partnerships under the american conservation enhancement (ACE) act. Coordination support includes a process for soliciting, selecting, funding and tracking projects, staff work to support committees, and provide partnership outreach, development, and marketing. In addition, as part of requirement of the ACE act, project tracking and reporting of projects across nfhp is required. This technical work includes hosting, maintaining, and updating of the project tracking system, as well as summaries and reports on projects and their associated accomplishments to the nfhp board and congress.
