The grant funds expansion of transient boater infrastructure designed to accommodate recreational vessels 26 feet or greater in length at the existing 175-acre marine service park. Deliverables include construction of a new 595-foot side tie transient dock accommodating approximately 9 eligible vessels, development of protected interior berthing capacity for approximately 24 additional eligible transient vessels, and installation of shore power and potable water utilities to all transient slips.
The Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) Program, administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, supports construction and renovation of maritime facilities that enhance public access and amenities for larger recreational boaters across coastal and lakeside regions.
