THESE GOALS ARE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH HABITAT RESTORATION, RESEARCH, MONITORING, ADMINISTRATION AND EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF WILD SALMON, BULLTROUT AND STEELHEAD IN OUR ECOSYSTEMS. THIS PROJECT IS ONGOING. HCSEG'S (HOOD CANAL SALMON ENHANCEMENT GROUP) ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: PERPETUATING AND ENHANCING THE GENETIC DIVERSITY AND STOCKS OF WILD SALMON, BULLTROUT AND STEELHEAD IN HCANAL THROUGH PROTECTION AND RESTORATION OF THESE SPECIES, STEWARDSHIP AND RESEARCH FOR WATERSHED AND MARINE ECOSYSTEMS, HABITAT RESTORATION, COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND OUTREACH, AND ANY OTHER MEANS APPROPRIATE. HCSEG IS A 501-3 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. HCSEG COVERS AN EXTENSIVE REGION WITHIN THE PUGET SOUND. AREAS OF OPERATION THROUGHOUT HOOD CANAL'S WATERSHEDS ARE LISTED WITH PROJECT DESCRIPTION/TITLE IN HCSEG'S WORK PLAN/STATEMENT OF WORK/PROGRAM/BUDGET NARRATIVE. USFWS'S FUNDING SUPPORTS OUR OPERATIONS MAINLY THROUGH PERSONNEL COSTS BY MONTHLY STAFF BILLINGS AND GENERAL OPERATING EXPENSES. THIS CRITICAL FUNDING WHILE SUPPORTING MOSTLY PERSONNEL COSTS ALLOWS OUR GROUP TO HAVE AN EXTENSIVE REACH IN OUR WATERSHED AND THUS SUPPORTS ALL OUR OPERATIONS NOTED IN PROJECT LIST IN HCSEG'S WORKPLAN.
