About this award

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will receive $2 million under a Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 1. The award is part of the Clean Vessel Act program, which provides funding for the construction, renovation, operation and maintenance of marine sewage pumpout facilities.

Through this award, the Commission will construct new pumpout facilities and boats, continue operating and maintaining existing pumpout infrastructure, and support the Pumpout Washington outreach and education program. The work will be performed in Washington state through December 2025. As the prime recipient, the Commission will work with its parent agency, the Washington Department of Public Instruction, to deliver these pumpout services.
