Description
Constructed in the 1967, the 1,035-foot linear dock is nearing the end of its useful life. This project will ensure that moorage facilities for eligible class vessels (i.e., transient, recreational, non-trailerable vessels of 26 feet or greater in length) remain available to the public at one of the most popular and beautiful boating destinations in washington state. The boat haven marina is a full-service marina located on the northeast corner of the olympic peninsula in historic port townsend. The marina lies on the primary water route to the SAN juan islands, a world-renowned boating destination. Boat haven, located in the historic town of port townsend, is also a destination of choice for recreational boaters. Port townsend is a national historic landmark district and one of only three victorian seaports in the united states. IT is home to numerous annual musical festivals, an annual film festival, and the largest wooden boat festival in north america.port townsend boat haven is one of only three facilities providing transient recreational boating moorage for eligible-class vessels on admiralty inlet, north puget sound (the other such facility is the port's point hudson marina, approximately 2 miles to the east). The proposed project will provide 26 transient public recreational slips at a key location on the inland waters of washington state.
