About this award

The Alaska Sealife Center received a $126,917 Project Grant award from the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 9 Headquarters to conduct live stranding response and monitoring of northern sea otters and walruses in Alaska from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022. The funding supports the Prescott Marine Mammal Rescue Assistance program, which provides financial assistance for response, recovery, rescue, treatment, and release of certain marine mammal species, as well as collection of associated scientific data.
