On September 27, 2025, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded $202,091.00 to the Tiltonsville Volunteer Fire Department through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program (CFDA 97.044). The award period extends through September 26, 2027. The AFG program, administered by FEMA Headquarters Financial Assistance Awards, supports fire departments in enhancing public and firefighter safety by funding equipment acquisition, personnel training to recognized standards, personal protective equipment procurement, facility modifications, emergency response vehicle acquisition, and health and wellness program implementation.
The Tiltonsville Volunteer Fire Department will utilize this Project Grant funding to support operational capabilities and safety enhancements within the fire department located in Tiltonsville, Ohio. As part of FEMA's broader AFG program portfolio, which has obligated $6.5 billion across over 38,000 awards, this grant enables the department to strengthen emergency response readiness and firefighter safety in accordance with program objectives to enhance resilience and interoperability in emergency services.
