The Perry Township Fire Department in Evansville, Indiana received a $368,800.08 Project Grant award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on August 29, 2022 under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program (CFDA 97.044). The goal of this two-year award is to enhance public and firefighter safety with respect to fire and fire-related hazards through the provision of equipment and training. Specifically, the Perry Township Fire Department will utilize the funding to deliver products and services that improve response capabilities and reduce risks faced by first responders through the acquisition of protective gear and vehicles as well as specialized training. The AFG program aims to provide critical tools and resources to local fire departments across the country in support of their life-saving missions.
