The City of McCook, Nebraska received a $198,707.70 Project Grant award from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on August 30, 2021 under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program (CFDA #97.044). The grant will support the city's fire department in enhancing public and firefighter safety with respect to fire and fire-related hazards through August 29, 2022. Specifically, the AFG funding will allow the city to provide critical firefighting equipment and resources to more effectively respond to fire emergencies in the community. The goal of FEMA's AFG Program is to improve first responder safety through such means.
