Description

This EDA short-term planning assistance award to the evansville regional economic partnership foundation (erep) will help the four-county region develop a comprehensive economic development strategy to address economic distress and chart a course to the region?s future success. Chronic low per capita income throughout the region and the recent closure of a nearby coal-fired power plant led local leaders to initiate an economic development planning process to catalyze diversification and inclusive growth for the region?s economy. The EDA-funded strategy will include an evaluation of current economic conditions in gibson, posey, vanderburgh, and warrick counties, a swot analysis of regional assets and liabilities, and an action plan to develop the regional economy for years to come.
